Several injured in cross border shelling in Karnah sector | KNO

Kupwara, Aug 07 (KNO): Several persons were injured during the intense cross border shelling along the line of control in Karnah sector in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Friday afternoon. Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that several persons received injuries after Pakistani rangers initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation in forward areas of Karnah sector. They said that this afternoon Pakistani rangers restored to unprovoked ceasefire violation and targeted forward posts of Indian army and civilian areas, triggering an unease in the area. Senior superintendent of police, Kupwara, Shriram Ambarkar told KNO that the exact figures of injured were not known but rescue operation was launched and first aid was also being provided to the injured. "There are reports of injuries from Rangward and other areas. Damage to residential houses, If any will be assessed once the situation improves," he said—(KNO)
